ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) will announce the top literary award ‘Life Time Achievement Award-2022’ on Wednesday (today).

‘Life Time Achievement Award’ and ‘National Literary Awards’ are the most important awards of the country given for literary services and books.

‘Life Time Achievement Award’ is conferred upon a writer for his or her lifelong literary services. Besides the award, an amount of Rs1 million will also be given.

The award which is also called ‘Kamal-i-Fun Award’ will be decided by a panel of the eminent and respectful writers and intellectuals throughout the country.

On this occasion the ‘National Literary Awards for 2022’ will also be announced on the best books published in 2022. For Urdu Poetry ‘Dr Allama Mohammad Iqbal Award’ will be given, ‘Baba-i-Urdu Dr Molvi Abdul Haq Award’ for Urdu Research and Critic Literature, ‘Saadat Hassan Manto Award’ for Urdu Creative Literature, ‘Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Award’ for Sindhi Poetry, ‘Mirza Qaleech Baig Award’ for Sindhi Prose, ‘Khushal Khan Khattak Award’ for Pashto poetry, ‘Mohammad Ajmal Khan Khattak Award’ for Pashto prose, ‘Syed Waris Shah Award’ for Punjabi poetry, ‘Afzal Ahsan Randhawa Award’ for Punjabi prose, ‘Mast Tawakali Award’ for Balochi poetry, and ‘Syed Zahoor Shah Hashmi Award’ for Balochi prose will be announced.

For Seraiki Poetry ‘Khawaja Ghulam Farid Award’ will be given, ‘Dr Mehar Abdul Haq Award’ will be bestowed for for Seraiki prose, ‘Taj Mohammad Tajal Award’ for Brahvi poetry, ‘Ghulam Nabi Rahi Award’ for Brahvi prose, ‘Saieen Ahmed Ali Award’ for Hindko poetry, ‘Khatir Ghazanvi Award’ for Hindko prose, ‘Daud Kamal Award’ for English poetry, ‘Pitras Bukhari Award’ for English Prose and for best translation works ‘Mohammad Hassan Askari Award’ will be given for English prose will be announced. The cash award will be Rs200,000 each.
