ISLAMABAD: Wapda and Pakistan Air Force (PAF) won their respective matches to secure their place in the final of the PTF Inter-Department Tennis Trophy here at the PTF Complex on Monday.

On the fourth day of the tournament, Wapda dominated Army while PAF continued their winning streak against Navy.

Wapda’s Mohammad Abid got the better of Army’s Abdullah Adnan winning the match comfartably 6-3, 6-4 while department-mate Aqeel Khan ensured Wapda the spot in final after a clinical 6-2, 6-4 victory against Muzammil Murtaza.

In doubles, Muzammil and Abdullah made amend for their earlier loss as they won a marathon match against Wapda’s Shahzad Khan and Heera Ashiq to clinch a consolation victory.

Earlier, PAF’s Yousaf Khalil outclassed Navy’s Faizan Fayyaz Khan 6-2, 6-2 while Mohammad Shoaib routed Asad Zaman 6-3, 6-1 to maintain their winning run against Navy intact.

Navy’s duo of Asad and Faizan were also on the losing end in the doubles as the pair of Shoaib and Hamza defeated them 6-2, 6-3. The final will be played on Tuesday.
