RAWALPINDI: A man was gunned down in the limits of Airport police station on Monday, apparently in the name of honour.

Adnan Masih, 22, resident of Chaklala Scheme III, lodged an FIR with the Airport police saying that he is unmarried and working as a sweeper in a Grammar school. He said he had five brothers and a sister, as Chand Masih, 25, is a tailor.

He said while he with his brother Haroon Tariq, 21, was going on duty on Monday morning. When he was passing through the street, Abdullah, a resident of Faisalabad and presently living in Dhoke Chaudhrian, called his brother and opened fire on him leaving him badly injured and later died. He said that he tried to chase him but he escaped.

He said that Abdullah was suspicious that his brother Haroon was having relations with his wife. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

Meanwhile, in an incident of theft almost 6000 barrels of crude oil was stolen from an underground line in the Dhamial area, police said.

Shahid Ahmad lodged an FIR with the Dhamial police saying that he with Yasir Mehmood, resident of Oil Field district Attock and Haris bin Fida, had been digging the ground near Mumtaz Market when they found that a six-inch crude oil pipeline of the company was tampered with and clamped and crude oil was being stolen.

The pipe had been passing through the ground and falling in the underground water tank of the adjacent house. On further digging it was found that the other 10-inchdiameterpipeline of the company was also clamped with a black pipe stealing the company’s crude oil by digging a tunnel.

Safina Tabasim had rented the house to Amanullah and Naqeebullah and the accused along with Syed Ishtiaq Shah and other unknown persons had stolen 4,677 barrels of crude oil from the company’s six inch diameter pipeline and 1031 barrels of crude oil had been stolen from a 10-inch diameter pipeline.
