SHANGLA: A house was gutted in Danda Shang area of Bisham tehsil here on Sunday when fire erupted in it due to short-circuit of electricity.

Locals said that a room of Moen Khan’s house caught fire, which engulfed all its seven wooden rooms. People rushed to the scene and extinguished after hectic efforts of four hours.

The fire reduced the entire house along with goods to ashes. The owner of the house demanded of the authorities to provide him temporary shelter and financial help for rebuilding his house

Meanwhile, police arrested three persons for assaulting a college student and recording his objectionable video.They said that FIR against the accused was lodged at Dandai police station in Bisham tehsil on the complaint of the student on Friday. They said that the student along with his uncle visited the police station to register FIR. They said that the victim told police that he was threatened by the accused that he would be killed if he told anyone about the incident.

Police said that the three persons nominated in the FIR were arrested on Sunday afternoon.

Also, a dead body was found at the bank of the Indus River in Sarkol area of Chakesar tehsil on Sunday.

Chakesar SHO Mohammad Afzal said that locals spotted the body at the bank of river and informed police. He said that they shifted the body to tehsil headquarters hospital for autopsy.

He said that the body was beyond recognition. However, he said that according to doctors the deceased was of 35 to 40 years. He said that later the body was buried in the local graveyard. He said that they informed police stations near the Indus River on Karakoram Highway to contact them if anyone reported about a missing person or a drowning incident.
