MUZAFFARGARH: A class nine girl student from Alipur was allegedly repeatedly raped by a man who threatened to share videos of the assault if she reported him. The girl became pregnant as a result of the assault.

Reports said the suspect, a resident of Alipur, entered the alleged rape survivor’s house and raped her. When she became pregnant, the suspect allegedly forced her to take abortion pills.

The pills caused her to lose consciousness, and the suspect, along with his mother and aunt, took her to a local clinic where a medical assistant performed an abortion. The girl later informed her family about the incident.

Police said they are investigating the matter and that the girl has filed a police report.

The suspect is accused of threatening to share the videos on social media if the victim spoke up about the assault.

ROTI: Following Kotaddu Deputy Commissioner Syed Munwar Abbas Bukhari’s orders, price control magistrates conducted raids on tandoors selling roti above the official rates.

Seven hotel owners were arrested for selling roti at prices exceeding the official rates.

The deputy commissioner said he was committed to ensuring that roti is sold at the official rate, as mandated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
