LAHORE, March 14: After eight months or so, an open forum will be held at the Punjab Accountant-General’s Office on Wednesday at 10am during the visit of Governor Khalid Maqbool.

The last open forum at the AG’s Office was held on July 8 last during the visit of the governor to inaugurate the Project to Improve Financial Reporting and Auditing, officials said on Tuesday.

Later, accompanied by the then AG, Wazir Ahmad Qureshi, the governor attended the open forum, listened to the complaints of the general public and issued orders for the redressal of the same.

“No open forum has been held since then,” officials said and added it had been regularly organised on every Friday from September 2001 to July last year.

Around 3,000 government employees, especially pensioners and widows, got relief through the open forum, the officials said.
