HYDERABAD, March 14: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil directed all mill owners on Tuesday to stop immediately releasing untreated water into Phuleli canal. Acting on reports about discharge of unhygienic water into Phuleli, he said the industrials units should treat water under hygienic rules before release it into the canal.

He directed MD WASA, EDO health, assistant director EPA and other agencies concerned to exercise strict vigilance in this regard.

Highly toxic water is being released into Phuleli canal for the last few days and authorities have advised people in Badin and Tando Mohammad Khan not to consume it.

LUMHS: The last date for the submission of examination forms for the second professional BDS annual examination 2006 at LUMHS is March 25 without late fee and April 1 with Rs200 late fee, announces additional controller of examinations, Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro on Tuesday.

Similarly, the controller of examinations LUMHS announced Medicine paper-I of final professional MBBS (new course) biannual examination 2005 would now be held on March 21 due to holiday on account of urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai on March 15, at LUMHS, Chandka Medical College Larkana and Peoples Medical College for Girls Nawabshah.

MUET: Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro announced that special supplementary examination of first term of Bachelor of Engineering (97-batch) of all disciplines earlier scheduled to be held on March 15 would now be held on March 27, 2006 from 2pm to 5pm.
