ZOMI Frankcom, an Australian, was a beacon of hope for many. From the plains of Australia, her native land, to the war-torn streets of Gaza, she traversed the globe, serving the most vulnerable with unparalleled fervour. What makes her truly special for us Pakistanis was her contribution to the relief efforts during the floods of 2022. In the inundated plains of Sindh, she emerged as a lifeline for the beleaguered communities of Khairpur Mirs and Johi, distributing thousands of meals as well as essential supplies with unwavering resolve.

In recent months, her unwavering courage led her to the embattled streets of Gaza. Even in the face of daunting odds, she refused to yield, knowing that the need of the hour outweighed the risks. Tragically, her journey of selflessness was cut short by an act of unfathomable brutality by the Zionist forces of Israel. The vehicle she was travelling in was mercilessly targeted by a missile. In an instant, a life of incomparable worth was snuffed out.

Moreover, as we mourn the loss of a true humanitarian hero, we must also confront the harsh reality of a world marred by senseless violence and injustice. The tragic fate that befell Frankcom serves as a stark reminder of the perils faced by those who dare to tread the path of righteousness in a world plagued by conflict.

However, but even in the dark hour, we must not succumb to despair. Frankcom’s legacy teaches us that even the mightiest of storms cannot extinguish the light of compassion and empathy. In her memory, let us pledge to carry forward her noble mission, to stand as beacons of hope in a world desperate for healing and redemption.

Though she may have been taken from us too soon, Frankcom’s spirit lives on

in the countless lives she touched and the countless souls that she inspired. May her memory be a blessing, and may her legacy serve as a guiding light for all who strive to make the world a better place.
