FOCUS ON STRATEGY: Iran has responded to the Israeli attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, stressing that the life of those who have been killed by the occupiers of Palestine would not go waste. However, Iran should continue to reach out to nations that are helping the rogue Zionist state in continuing with the genocide in Gaza. First, Iran should ask Azerbaijan, Brazil, Russia and Gabon to stop supplying oil to the Zionist Israel. Moreover, Israel’s Tamar gas field has been redirecting supplies through a pipeline in Jordan. That is something to work on. Along with the Houthis in Yemen and freedom- fighters in Iraq, Iran has the potential to make a real impact. It really does.

SEMINARY ABUSE: Unfortunately, acts of harassment and physical abuse in seminaries are taken lightly, and are mostly ignored by people in villages across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). As such, one of my cousins’ son was recently beaten up in a seminary, leaving him unable to even move. Harassment and physical abuse are prevalent in seminaries of Swabi, but no action has been taken to stop it. Children go to the seminaries to seek religious knowledge, but many of them face abuse and harassment. This continuous trend of harassment, abuse and ignorance must now end.

PENDULUM SWING: There was high excitement among all American Muslims to watch the recent solar eclipse. Indeed, it was a rare sight and could not be missed. They travelled far distances to catch the glimpse of the total darkness caused by the solar eclipse. They firmly believed in the precision of science and were not disappointed. However, their conviction in science was soon proved to be short-lived. The very next day, the very same community was relying upon the eyes of its religious custodians whether not they had sighted the Shawwal moon so they could start the celebration of Eidul Fitr. Interesting, right?
