QUETTA, March 12: Jamhoori Watan Party chief Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti has alleged that security forces have planted landmines from Pakeel to Barkhan in areas controlled by them.

Talking to newsmen by satellite phone on Sunday, the Baloch leader expressed deep concern over the death of innocent Bugti people in a landmine explosion in the Kharcha area of Barkhan, saying the blast had taken palce in an area controlled by security forces.

Nawab Bugti said his party’s secretary-general Senator Agha Shahid Hasan Bugti had clarified that the Baloch resistance movement was not involved in the incident.

The JWP chief claimed that thousands of artillery shells had been fired by paramilitary forces since hostilities erupted in Dera Bugti between them and tribesmen.

He alleged that jet aircraft had bombed areas adjacent to Bambore.
