Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz says he’s “appalled by the vile wave of anti-Semitism” amid ongoing demonstrations at Columbia University in New York against the conflict in Gaza. The diplomat urged officials to take action.

US President Joe Biden earlier issued a statement condemning an “alarming surge of anti-Semitism — in our schools, communities, and online”.

Reports emerged in recent days of harassment and threats against Jewish students at Columbia University. As we reported earlier, the group of student activists representing the protesters have distanced themselves from “inflammatory individuals” and said they reject “any form of hate or bigotry”.
