DERA GHAZI KHAN, Feb 3: Two proclaimed offenders were killed on Sunday night in an alleged encounter at south of Dajal town, some 90 kilometres from here.

Sensitive agencies had arrested Nazara Hoti and Fida Hoti from Meeran Shah, south Waziristan, on suspicion of their involvement in terrorist activities one-and-a-half-month ago. After interrogation, they were handed over to the Dajal police some 10 days ago.

On Sunday night at 6pm, the POs were being shifted to some unknown place for further ‘interrogation’ when a white pick-up appeared on the scene. The pick-up riders opened fire on police which resulted in the killing of both the POs and injuring of constable Rafique. The assailants, said to be the accomplices of POs, managed to escape from the scene.

The POs were wanted by Dajal and Choti Zaireen police in a number of cases of dacoity, robbery, murder and other heinous crimes.
