KARACHI, March 10: A consignment of table tennis equipments donated by the ITTF and ATTU under the promotion programme, has reached Karachi seaport and would be cleared next week, a top official of Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF) said on Friday.

The ping pong equipments which arrived here from India include six tables, six nets, as many scorers, 80 rackets and eight gross balls. Pakistan was among the five nations picked by the international and regional governing bodies of the game to get the sports gear.

Other four countries were Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Oman and Syria.

PTTF president, S. M. Sibtain, said the government has allowed exemption of sales tax and customs duty on its import.

This is not the first occasion when PTTF has been benefited under the games promotion programme by the ITTF and ATTU.

He cited two instances when PTTF had received 14 and eight ping pong tables in the past.
