QUETTA: For the first time in the parliamentary history of Balochistan, all candidates contesting on 11 seats of Senate from the province have been elected unopposed.

The candidates were declared winners after rivals withdrew from the race.

On Friday, the provincial election commission announced that after retirement of an independent candidate, PPP’s Bilal Khan Mandokhail and Maulana Abdul Wasey of JUI-F have been elected unopposed on two reserved seats for technocrats. Seven candidates had already been elected senators unopposed.
