Urooj shines

LAHORE, March 9: Devastating bowling by Urooj Mumtaz and 66 extras helped Karachi earn a 129-run win against Peshawar in the national women championship on Thursday.

Urooj claimed five wickets for 20 runs in 3.2 overs as Peshawar were all out for 112 in 27.2 overs while chasing a target of 242. Only opener Nabeela Gulzar impressed with the bat, scoring 72-ball 56 with 10 fours.

Peshawar also failed while its bowlers conceded 61 wides to help Karachi pile up 241-9 in 50 overs. Shaiza Khan (30) was the top scorer.
