KARACHI: The Government of Sindh on Thursday announced a public holiday for Easter on Monday, April 1 for the Christian community only.

All offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils under the administrative control of Sindh are therefore to give all their Christian employees a day off on the occasion.

Easter, the day of the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after his Crucifixion, is celebrated on a Sunday, which is anyway a weekend holiday. So the provincial government decided to give a day off for the community on the following day.
