KARACHI: A youth ‘missing’ from Lyari and another young man were found shot dead in Manghopir on Wednesday, said police and relatives.

The Manghopir police said, “Two bodies with gunshot wounds were found near Zaryab Hotel, Northern Bypass, Manghopir. Their hands were tied and the eyes were also blindfolded.”

A 9mm bullet casing was also recovered from the spot.

One person has been identified as Shah Zaman Ali, son of Ali Nawaz, while the other man is being identified with the help of biometric record.

“The incident is being investigated from various aspects,” said West-SSP Dr Hafeezur Rehman Bugti in a statement.

The bodies were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Police surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed said that Shah Zaman had suffered three bullet wounds — one on head and two on chest while the unidentified person received a single bullet wound on his head.

Manghopir police station SHO Sarfraz Awan said Shah Zaman was a resident of Brohi Mohalla in Singulane of Chakiwara. The deceased had been ‘missing’, whose FIR was registered at the Chakiwara police station, he added.

The police officer said that the police had information that Shah Zaman along with two other people had been missing.

However, so far only the family of Shah Zaman had approached the police for receiving his body, he added.

His father Ali Nawaz told the media that his son had been missing since Aug 17, 2023 from Chakiwara.

He had left his home to visit his grandmother’s house in Malir and since then his whereabouts were unknown.
