SARGODHA: A two-member team from Lahore visited the old civil hospital building for the establishment of Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha on Tuesday.
The team proposed to demolish the old building to build the cardiology institute.
District Officer of Building Muhammad Umar Bhatti briefed the team, which reviewed the proposed venue of the cardiology treatment facility. According to sources, the old building of civil hospital and offices of health chief executive officer and adjoining offices will be demolished for the construction of the institute.
The proposed cardiology institute will now have 270 beds instead of 140, and the new PC-I is being prepared.
The team will finalise its recommendations and submit them to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, after which final decisions will be taken. Earlier, on March 7, Ms Nawaz had performed the foundation stone ceremony for the institute on Faisalabad Road.
SOLAR: Three solar energy projects of 2.6 megawatts will be completed in three months to switch the main campus of the University of Sargodha (UoS) and its allied campuses to solar energy.
Under the project, the UoS main campus, Allama Iqbal Campus and agricultural college will be solarized, for which two private companies signed an agreement with the UoS.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Qaiser Abbas said that switching the university to solar energy was a significant step towards green energy.
SUSPENDED: Three patwaris of Sargodha were suspended from service for their alleged negligence and corrupt practices in the distribution of free ration in the Ramazan Nigehban package.
According to sources, instead of distributing free ration to the deserving people at their doorstep, these patwaris distributed it at the residence of political elites in Circle 46 NB, Lak Mor, and Circle 43 NB of Sargodha.
Taking notice of the complaints of the district monitoring team and the public, the authorities suspended patwaris Umair Qaiser, Muhammad Wajahat, and Nazr Hayat from service.
