TOBA TEK SINGH: The Faisalabad Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) arrested a former private bank officer in Mianwali on Monday for his involvement in a Rs140 million fraud case.

According to an FIA spokesperson, Toseef Ahmad, who served as a personal banking officer at the bank’s Mianwali branch, was accused of misappropriating Rs140 million belonging to 57 account holders.

The fraudulent activity occurred a year ago in which Ahmad allegedly colluded with other bank staff members to issue fake receipts to account holders who had made deposits at the branch.

The suspect had evaded arrest and was declared a proclaimed offender by the court.

The FIA said they were trying to arrest his accomplices, and a joint inquiry team had been formed to interrogate the suspect.

MAN DIES: An unidentified young man died after he fell down from a running train in Toba Tek Singh on Monday.

Rescue 1122 officials said the deceased was traveling by Lahore-to-Karachi Karakoram Express. He was standing in train’s door and when train reached near Chuttiana railway station his head collided with a signal pole as a result he fell down and injured critically.

When he was being shifted to Chuttiana rural health centre he succumbed to his wounds on the way.

Meanwhile, in Faisalabad a teenager fell from running train near railway station as a result he was critically wounded.

Rescue 1122 said that Uzair Jabbar of Samundri was standing in door of Pakistan Express bound from Rawalpindi for Karachi when his head collided to trackside pole as a result he was seriously injured and was shifted to the DHQ Hospital.

KILLED: Aman was killed in the Islampura locality of Toba Tek Singh on Monday due to longstanding enmity.

According to the city police, Arsalan Gujjar from Ittehad Park was riding his motorcycle in Islampura when his rivals Abdul Rauf and Abdul Rehman, also on a motorcycle, indiscriminately opened fire on him near Hajweri Chowk. Arsalan sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the district headquarters hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.

Sources said the deceased had previously served a three-year sentence for the murder of a member of the opponent group and had recently been released on bail.

Meanwhile, at Khanewal in Mauza Kotla Basti Hussainabad Wali, Zahid Nawaz 18 was murdered on Monday.

Police said after exchange of harsh words three boys opened fire on him. He died instantly.

The police arrested one of the suspects.

ACCIDENT: A woman died after a motorcycle hit her at Jhang on Monday when she was crossing, Jhang-Faisalabad Road near Rescue Central station.

She was injured and later died at the DHQ hospital. She was identified as Chandan Bibi.

In Khanewal near Kacha Khu on Lahore-Multan Road, a man died in a collision of motorcycles. Three teenage boys were injured.

The deceased motorcyclist could not be identified while three others traveling on the same bike were shifted to the DHQ hospital. They were identified as Ali Haider, 15, Ahmad Hassan, 13, and Muhammad Ayan 15.
