SUKKUR: Kandhkot police have registered a case against seven members of Nandwani gang for killing a primary schoolteacher, Allah Rakhiyo Nandwani, in a targeted attack in Kandhkot two days ago.

The police at the Karampur police station filed the case on a complaint lodged by Mullah Bakhsh Nandwani, brother of the slain teacher, under relevant sections of Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) against Piyaro, Zafarullah, Saddam, Nasrullah, Karamullah, and two unidentified suspects.

But despite having registered the case, sources said, the police had not yet been able to arrest the accused.

Meanwhile, a large number of teachers and activists of different nationalist and social organisations staged a demonstration under the banner of the Primary Teacher Association (PTA) outside local press club in protest against the teacher’s killing.
