SELECTION TRANSPARENCY: The Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) is believed to have told the judiciary that it plans to record the interviews of aspirants and release them on multiple social media platforms. However, in this scenario, the missing elements of accountability and transpa- rency have not been addressed by the SPSC. If the SPSC goes ahead with the said plan, there is a good chance that corruption and nepotism may increase to an unstopable extent, as the authorities could potentially guide or train their favourite individuals on the questions that would be asked during the interview. There has to be some other solution.

FEAR IN SHIKARPUR: Shikarpur is a historical city of Sindh which was once famous for its trade. There was a time when Shikarpur was considered a haven of peace, but now the city is in the grip of bandits and robbers. From street crimes and robberies to kidnappings and murders, the people of Shikarpur are being subjected to serious and severe lawlessness. The local administration has failed to address the sense of fear and terror that is prevalent in and across the area. No one feels safe being in Shikarpur anymore.

PATHETIC ROADS: The current condition of roads in Karachi is pathetic, with potholes, cracks and uneven surfaces rampant across major thoroughfares and neighbourhood streets alike. These hazardous road conditions endanger the lives of people, both motorists and pedestrians, and also have adverse effect on commerce, tourism and overall quality of life. Moreover, the lack of proper maintenance and infrastructure development has worsened the situation further, leading to traffic problems, vehicle damage and increased number of accidents. The authorities concerned should improve the condition of Karachi’s roads that have become a cause of an utter nuisance.
