PUBLIC TRANSPORT: One of the primary issues with our public transport system is the lack of cleanliness in vehicles and at bus stands. Accessibility is another significant challenge, parti- cularly for individuals with disabilities or special needs. Almost all public transport vehicles lack ramps and designated seating areas for the disabled, making it difficult for these individuals to be able to move around independently. Furthermore, long waiting times and irregular schedules disrupt travel plans, and cause inconvenience to the commuters, especially during peak hours. Taking measures to enhance the efficiency of operations and improve service reliability is essential for addressing these issues and enhancing the overall commuter experience.

RUCKUS IN PARLIAMENT: An unprecedented ruckus was witnessed in the National Assembly during the induction of the newly-elected members. What type of message is being conveyed by chanting slogans and using foul language? The assembly hall is not meant for chanting slogans from the gallery. This was surely politics at its lowest level.

TRANSPORTATION CHALLENGES: Thousands of students use shuttle buses to go to the University of Karachi every day. Most of them keep standing throughout the commute because of overcrowding. In November 2023, a student had died after falling from one of the university shuttle buses. The government should provide new buses to the university.
