TOBA TEK SINGH: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf lawyer Saleem Raza Chohan and passerby college student Eiman Fatima were injured when PML-N city information secretary Umer Farooq Bajwa and his accomplices – Usama Azam Jat and Abaidullah – opened fire on them outside the sessions court on Wednesday.

The police said the suspects opened fire after Chohan’s brother, advocate Adeel Safdar Chohan, and the suspects exchanged words. Lawyer Amer Raza Chohan, brother of Saleem Chohan, was also injured by the suspects who hit his head with a wooden bar. The police said that raids were being conducted to arrest the accused persons who fled by car after the attack.

HONOUR KILLING: A woman was murdered on Wednesday for honour in Jhang, in the Attara Hazari police station area locality of Imrana Wali.

Muhammad Imran had suspicions about the character of his wife, Farzana Bibi, over which he shot and killed her. The police arrested the suspect.

KILLED: A couple was murdered for honour in Khanewal’s Mauza Chiraghbela.

Complainant Syed Munir Hussain of Mouza Sardarpur said in his FIR registered on Wednesday under sections 302 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code that his nephew, Mubashir Hussain, wanted to marry Rabia Batool, daughter of suspect Rabnawaz Jat of Kabirwala tehsil Chak Chiragh Bela.

For this, the complainant talked to Rabnawaz, who invited the complainant and his deceased nephew Mubashir to his home to discuss the issue. He added in the FIR that when they both were at the house of Rabnawaz, he and his one accomplice opened fire on Mubashir and Rabia, resulting in both being critically injured and succumbing to their wounds on the spot.

Police were conducting raids to arrest the accused.
