SIALKOT, March 7: The Punjab government has declared Sialkot tehsil’s 33 and Sambrial tehsil’s 14 private housing schemes illegal. On the directions of the provincial government, the district government’s officials concerned have issued legal notices to the owners and developers of these 47 illegal housing schemes, besides submitting challans to the owners of these illegal private housing schemes before the concerned court under the Housing Rules 2005.

According to the official sources, the provincial government had sought a detailed inquiry report about these schemes from the district government. The Sialkot district government said these housing schemes were being established without prior approval of maps and registration processes.

Meanwhile, the Sialkot Tehsil Municipal Administration has urged the people not to purchase plots, houses and other properties in all the above-mentioned schemes.

EXPORT ITEMS: The federal government would soon introduce a scientific technology for improvement and valuation of Sialkot’s export-oriented surgical instruments manufacturing industry, and exporters to enhance dividends for their products in the international markets.

According to sources, the step was being taken to enable the Sialkot business community to compete with international markets with their best quality products.

The Ministry of Science and technology has urged the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce to allocate a suitable space for setting up PCIR test laboratory aimed at extending latest testing facilities to the local business community, as a special subsidy amounting to more than Rs150 million had been provided to 750 firms — 257 in Sialkot. Another 185 subsidy cases of Sialkot were still lying pending.
