PESHAWAR, March 7: NWFP Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammad Raffat Pasha has directed police officials to ensure quality of work while constructing police stations in quake-hit areas and to properly utilise police repair funds.

He was inaugurating the reconstructed Balakot police station and Baffa police checkpost in district Mashera on Tuesday. These had been destroyed and razed to the ground in the Oct 8 earthquake.

The police chief directed the police officials to construct the police lines and police station buildings in a manner that these could withstand disaster.

Earlier, the IGP formally inaugurated the reconstructed police station and Balakot and Baffa police checkposts by unveiling plaques.

He went round each and every section of the reconstructed buildings and issued necessary instructions to police high officials.—APP
