KHAR (Bajaur Agency), March 7: Two alleged spies were shot dead in the Chengi Damadola area of the agency on Monday night. Sources said the victims were beggars and had moved to the locality in January this year. They were suspected of being informers.

Witnesses said the two men, who were in 40s, were staying at the Hujra of a tribal elder, Malik Gul Khan, in the Chengi Damadola village. They had no enmity with anybody in the area. They belonged to the Srowano area of Salarzai tehsil of the agency. However, their names could not be ascertained.

The sources said that the men were suspected of spying on the Damadola village, which led to the US air strike in January. The authorities have made no arrests in connection with the double murder.
