RAWALPINDI: President Moammer Gaddafi of Libya said here tonight [Feb 26] that Pakistan and Libya have decided to build a united power to face the enemy and they are also determined to translate words into deeds. President Gaddafi was replying to a welcome speech at a banquet given in his honour by Prime Minister Z.A. Bhutto at the President’s guest house. …

President Gaddafi said he was very happy to be in Pakistan. “We are not in a strange country. In fact we are among our own people and brothers,” he said. President Gaddafi said Pakistan and Libya are on the path of Jehad, not only against the enemy but also against injustice. And “let the whole world see our united struggle”. President Gaddafi paid rich tributes to Prime Minister Bhutto for the success of the Islamic Summit. …

Mr Bhutto … said that [the] people of Pakistan “salute you [Gaddafi] as a man of revolution”, a great friend of Pakistan and harbinger of our cause. … Mr Bhutto said he was confident President Gaddafi would go back to his country with the impression that he had met true friends and brothers in Pakistan.
