Minor girl dies, three injured in building collapse in Lahore

LAHORE: A minor girl died, while three other persons were injured when a building collapsed in Hanjarwal area on Multan Road here on Tuesday.

The building housed various shops, including the LPG decanting outlet.

The girl who died in the incident was identified as Fiza (6), while those injured included her sister Nayab (8) and her father Yasir, who were shifted to hospital.

Police, quoting eyewitnesses said the building, that was already dilapidated, collapsed during the construction work going on at its second floor.

According to a police official, on being informed of the building collapse, Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the spot and launched rescue operation, recovering the body of the minor girl and the injured persons from the debris.

He said an inquiry into the incident has been launched to fix responsibility.
