OKARA: Police claimed on Monday to have arrested a youth who allegedly strangled a minor boy after rape here on Sunday at village Badri in Depalpur area.

As per first information report, Waseem Ali (5) went out of the house but did not return.

During a search, the family learnt that the minor was seen with a youth on a bike on Basirpur Road.

Later, the victim was spotted in a sugarcane field in an unconscious condition and he later expired.

On the report of victim’s father Muhammad Desh, Dipalpur Saddar police have registered a case under sections 376 and 302 of the PPC.

Meanwhile, District Police Officer (DPO) Mansoor Aman visited the victim’s house.

Police have arrested the suspect.

harassed: A cleric allegedly harassed one of his girl students here on Sunday in Rasulpur locality of Hujra Shah Muqeem.

As per first information report, a seven-year-old girl went to the mosque for routine Quran learning on Sunday and returned home late.

The girl told her mother that her teacher sexually harassed her. The girl’s father visited the mosque and found it locked.

Later, the police reached the spot and registered a case under section 376 of Pakistan Penal Code.

Raids are under way to arrest the suspect.

FOUND DEAD: A missing widow was found dead at village -36 A/ GD.

Reports said a widow went missing from house and family found her dead in fields.

Later, Gogera police claimed to have nabbed suspect Asad who killed his sister on suspicion.

Gogera police have registered a case under section 302 of PPC.
