TOBA TEK SINGH: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested on Friday two members of a fraudulent gang operating in Toba Tek Singh and Faisalabad.

The suspects, identified as Imran Ali and Ghulam Murtaza, were involved in a scam amounting to millions of rupees, targeting people seeking vehicles on lease.

The FIA spokesperson said the duo collected funds on behalf of an unregistered entity named Global Wheels. Seven cases were registered against them in 2022 and 2023 by the Faisalabad FIA. Raids are being conducted to arrest their accomplices.

CLAIM: Two women claim to be the mothers of a one-day-old child found abandoned at the Khanewal DHQ Hospital on Friday.

Witnesses said a Christian and a Muslim woman claimed their maternity over the clothless baby, creating a dispute in the pediatric ward.

The women disappeared when the police arrived, leaving the child seriously ill and under hospital care.

The hospital staff provided a CCTV footage to the police for identification of the child’s mother.

HOUSE: The widow of the martyred police constable Nisar Ali, from Chak 323-JB, Qiampur, was presented with a new house by the Punjab police on Friday.

In a modest ceremony, Toba Tek Singh District Police Officer Ibadat Nisar handed over the keys and ownership documents of the house, valued at Rs13.5 million.

The house, chosen based on the preferences of the martyred official’s family, comes with the assurance of a full salary until his retirement age.
