MARDAN: An old enmity claimed lives of a man and a woman near the Labour Colony in Takhtbai tehsil here on Friday. Both the deceased hailed from Shahbaz Gari area, the police said.

Takhtbai police station officials said that the slain were identified as Hasnain, 21, and Ms Habiba, 19.

They said that the deceased were going in their car near Labour Colony when assailants opened indiscriminate fire over their vehicle killing them on the spot. The accused fled the scene soon after committing the double murder.

The police registered FIR against the alleged killers, identified as Bakhtaj and Javed, on the complaint of Mohammad Toqeer, a cousin of slain persons. The officials said the police were making efforts to arrest the accused.
