LAHORE: The police have completed all security and traffic arrangements for the matches of Pakistan Super League 2024 Season 09.

IGP Dr Usman Anwar said that a strategy has been adopted to ensure the peaceful and safe conduct of PSL matches. Police teams will provide full security to both local and foreign players, officials, and cricket fans in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan.

He said that coordination with all relevant institutions, including the Pakistan Cricket Board, district administrations, and security agencies, has been completed. Over 20,000 officers and officials will be deployed to perform security duties during matches in Punjab.

The IG stressed the need for foolproof security and traffic measures during the matches. Search, sweep, combing, and intelligence-based operations will continue around players’ residences, routes, and stadiums. With the assistance of the cameras of the Safe Cities Authority, close monitoring of stadiums, hotels, and the teams’ routes will be ensured. Lady police officers will be deployed for security and checking of women cricket fans.

He directed the districts to issue traffic advisories before the matches to maintain citizens’ awareness and traffic flow. He urged the uninterrupted flow of traffic on roads, adequate parking during matches, and the implementation of the traffic plan.
