ISLAMABAD, March 3: Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) on Thursday submitted an adjournment motion to the National Assembly Secretariat seeking a debate on the recent military operation in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) in which 40 people, including women and children, were killed.

The motion has been signed by as many as 17 MNAs including Liaquat Baloch, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, Dr Farid Ahmed Paracha, Asadullah Bhutto, Maulana Merajuddin Khan, Usman advocate, Maulana Nek Zaman, Sahibzada Haroonur Rashid, Maulana Abdul Malik, Maulana Abdul Malik Wazir, Shabbir Ahmed Khan, Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz, Maulana Ahmed Ghafoor, Aisha Munawar, Samia Raheel Qazi and Inayat Begum.

The motion says 12 gunship helicopters of Pakistan Army and a large number of commandos took part in the operation and bombed the agency on March 1 in which 40 persons, including women and children, were killed.
