SAHIWAL: The Counter Terrorism Department arrested a member of the banned militant Islamic State group from Sarwar Chowk on Sahiwal-Faisalabad Road on Wednesday.

Sources said the suspected terrorist was identified as Usman Saeed.

The CTD recovered a detonator, dry batteries, an electric circuit, wires, and explosive material.

CTD police shifted the terrorist to an undisclosed location.

CANDIDATE: The ECP declared Pir Imran Shah of PML-N as winning candidate from NA-141.

A notification issued by Assistant Director Asad Ali says Pir Imran Shah bagged 118,242 votes while PTI-backed candidate Rana Amir Shahzad stood runner-up by securing 107,060 votes.

Rana Amir challenged Form 47 result and claimed to have received 17,000 more as per Form 45s issued to his polling agents from 421 polling stations.

The ECP after a recount upheld the RO’s decision as final.
