KARACHI, March 3: A delegation of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal led by its Provincial President and MNA Maulana Asadullah Bhutto on Thursday evening visited Bilawal House and met leaders of the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarian to discuss a joint strategy for the Senate elections being held on March 6.

The meeting was held to devise a joint strategy, as the two sides agreed on seat adjustments for the upcoming Senate elections.

It was decided that PPP and MMA MPAs in Sindh Assembly would cast their votes in favour of the joint opposition candidates.

The PPP has fielded Mian Raza Rabbani and Dr Safdar Abbasi for general seats and Dr Javaid R. Leghari and Ratna Chawla on technocrat and women seats respectively.

MMA’s Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro has been nominated for the general seat.

The leaders from both sides called upon the opposition MPAs to vote according to their conscience without fear and reject the government mechanism to manipulate the election results in its favour.—PPI
