Kiran smashes superb century

KARACHI, March 2: Kiran Baloch smashed a brilliant unbeaten hundred as Karachi crushed Hyderabad by 124 runs in the opening match of National Women cricket championship at PCB Academy Ground on Thursday.

Kiran hammered nine fours and brace of sixes in his 122 off 133 balls and Humaira Masroor weighed in with an unbeaten 52 with six boundaries as Karachi raced to 247 for two wickets in 40 overs after choosing to bat first.

Kiran and Humaira put on 153 for the unbroken second wicket.

Hyderabad in reply could manage 123 for four wickets in their 40 overs. Opener Sajida Shah finished on an undefeated 52 off 127 balls with a solitary boundary.

Karachi captain Shaiza Khan took two wickets for 29 runs in eight overs of leg spin. Hyderabad will take on Quetta on Friday.
