PESHAWAR, March 2: Senior Minister Sirajul Haq has asked people associated with medicine to focus on promoting Islamic culture and values in society and provide best possible treatment to patients, which he said was a real jihad and proof of love with the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him).

He was addressing Hub-i-Rasool Conference at the LRH auditorium here on Thursday. The conference was organised by Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) at the end of a week-long Hafta-i-Hub-i-Rasool (SAW). Besides others it was addressed by provincial education minister.

Sirajul Haq regretted that the spirit of Jihad in Muslim society has been given wrong and misleading impression by killing people due to western negative propaganda. He said Islam is a religion of peace and love while the Holy Prophet (SAW) has himself set living examples by practising all such Islamic values.

He said that even non-Muslim scholars have acknowledged the high prophetic role of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and paid rich tributes to the prophet.

However, he said, a certain lobby was hatching conspiracies to cause conflict of civilizations and create global unrest through such blasphemous acts. He expressed confidence that conscious Muslims including doctors’ community would play due role to foil such poisonous propaganda against Muslims and Islam. Later the senior minister led a walk of doctors as protest against blasphemous.—PPI
