KU wins girls’ badminton title

HYDERABAD, March 1: Karachi University won girls badminton crown defeating Sindh University 2-0 in the sports gala on Wednesday. KU’s Maria beat Sumera Shaikh 13-10, 13-10, 11-17 while Maria and Banish defeated Sumera and Paras Bhatti 15-04, 15-0.

Sumera Shaikh was declared as the best player of the tournament.

In basketball (girls) final, KU beat SU 32-17. Shakila was the highest scorer for KU by scoring 12. SU’s Quratul Ain scored 12. Mehran University secured third position.

In boys’ badminton final, SU defeated KU 2-0.

Farhan Ali beat Abdul Qadir 15-8, 15-8 while Farhan i and Adnan Ahmed overcame Faheem Ahmed and Naeem Ahmed 15-0, 15-2.

FOOTBALL: Sindh University defeated Sindh Agriculture University in Tando Jam 1-0.

The winner was scored by Ahmed.

Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences defeated Mehran University of Engineering and Technology 6-1 to secure third place.

TABLE TENNIS: SU defeated KU 3-0. Zain defeated Safwan 3-0, Adnan beat Ahmar 3-0 and Raheel downed Kashan 3-1.
