LAHORE: The Punjab Police Film Festival concluded on Saturday with screening of Jujji, a film produced by BHK Films and directed by Habib Shahzad, at the Alhamra Hall here.

At the event organised by the Punjab Police, films highlighting the role of police and challenges faced by the force in Pakistan were screened.

The film screening was also attended by filmmaker Syed Noor, who awarded shields to the director and his team.

Speaking on the occasion, Noor said he too wants to make a film on police, saying the festival had given a new hope to young filmmakers. He praised the Punjab Police for supporting local cinema and bringing attention to important topics.

Senior actor Rashid Mahmood stressed the need for presenting the true image of police in films and dramas.

Punjab Inspector General of Police Dr Usman Anwar, who was the chief guest, highlighted the achievements and challenges faced by his force. He said the Punjab Police was a family that protected the nation and the country, and tries to resolve every complaint, even if it is based on a “fake news”.

He invited the audience to visit the revamped police stations, service and licence centres of the Punjab Police and witness the positive change in the officials’ attitudes and performance.
