DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday said he would continue fighting against the “elements who are pursuing foreign agenda in Pakistan as Israeli agents.”

Addressing a public gathering in Town Hall of Tank district, Mr Fazl said that his party had always challenged those who “promoted vulgarity” among youth and played negative politics threatening the country’s very foundations.

He said the country was passing through the important electoral phase that provided people with the opportunity to elect those, who had pro-Pakistan ideology and whose politics was meant for people’s welfare.

The JUI-F chief said that his party wasn’t opposed to anyone but won’t allow “someone advance foreign agenda in Pakistan to weaken it.”

“Our war is against the Jewish lobby [in Pakistan],” he said.

Urges people to elect those with ‘pro-Pakistan ideology’

Nr Fazl said his party’s election manifesto was based on Islamic principles and promised a true welfare state where people felt secure, had ample employment opportunities and enjoyed rights.

He said it was introspection time for people, who should use their right to vote wisely.

“Vote is a sacred piece of paper whose use shapes the future of nations,” he said.

The JUI-F leader thanked the Awami National Party for extending support in the Feb 8 elections in Tank district.

He urged the people to elect trustworthy and sincere leaders for the country. Mr Fazl said he belonged to Pakhtun nation and didn’t fight against the weak.

He said people should vote for JUI-F nominees and not “ordinary” candidates. The JUI-F leader said the people of Tank always supported his party in elections and would do so on Feb 8 as well.

Strict security checks were in place at the venue of the public meeting.
