LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) management on Friday dismissed its canal road sub-divisional officer (SDO) from service.

The company’s spokesman said Lesco teams checked different areas and found that units were pending on three electricity connections in the area of Canal Road Sub-Division. According to the testing report, 382,140 and 272,780 units for November and December of 2023 were found pending on the said electricity connections.

After an inquiry, the management fired SDO Salman Samuel for publishing fake pictures on bills.

Lesco Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Engr Shahid Haider presided over a meeting to finalize the arrangements for uninterrupted supply of electricity throughout the region on the day of general elections (Feb 8).

He directed chief engineers (CEs) to be in constant touch with returning officers and if there is any problem regarding power supply, it should be resolved.

The CEO appointed CE Serwar Mughar in charge while three CEs would perform eight-hour duty in the power distribution control centre in three shifts. The CEO also directed superintendent engineers, executive engineers and SDOs to ensure their presence in the respective offices during the elections to monitor the power supply process.
