RAWALPINDI: A two-day workshop was conducted to assist the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) team in implementing the Developing Resilient Environment and Advancing Municipal Services (Dreams) project, a collaboration between the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of Punjab.

This project aims to address water supply infrastructural gaps in the garrison city.

The Operational Design and Business Model (ODBM) Consultants organised a two-day training workshop at the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) with a focus on developing and implementing innovative business models and plans.

The speakers informed that the infrastructure development schemes in Rawalpindi under Dreams-I would be started soon after getting a loan from the Asian Development Bank.

The schemes comprise of a 12 MGD integrated water supply system based on Chahan Dam, a 5 MGD augmentation of water supply through the replacement of the existing conductance main pipeline from Rawal Lake Filtration Plant to the waterworks at Sufaid Tanki, and an 8.64 MGD augmentation of water supply and the formation of district-metered areas in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, Rawalpindi.

They apprised the WASA team how to implement, monitor, and evaluate the project through various assessments and evaluation forms.

The two-day training workshop concluded with certificates of participation awarded by Wasa Managing Director Muhammad Tanveer.
