SWAT: In a horrifying incident in Rahimabad area, a man first shot dead and then slaughtered his wife in a fit of rage here on Monday, the police said.

They said the victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, tragically lost her life in a shocking act of domestic violence.

The Rahimabad police reported that the victim’s mother, devastated by the loss of her daughter, filed a First Information Report detailing the harrowing events leading to her daughter’s untimely demise.

The accused, identified as Bakht Munir, a resident of Madyan valley, had a history of frequent altercations with his wife, prompting her to seek refuge at her parents’ residence along with her children. In a desperate attempt to find safety, she also pursued legal recourse by filing a court case.

However, the situation took a tragic turn on Monday when Bakht Munir brazenly entered his in-laws’ home and opened indiscriminate fire at his wife, killing her on the spot. Shockingly, he then slaughtered her in a gruesome manner before fleeing the scene.

Responding swiftly to the incident, DSP city Amjad Khan confirmed that the accused, Bakht Munir, had been arrested and an investigation started.
