Final list of candidates for reserved seats in Sindh issued

KARACHI: The provincial election commissioner on Wednesday issued a final list of 159 candidates for seats reserved for women and minorities in the national and provincial assemblies from Sindh.

Except the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, the list carries names of aspirants belonging to all major political parties including Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Pakistan Peoples Party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, Grand Democratic Alliance, Jamaat-i-Islami, etc.

The list shows there are 38 aspirants including GDA’s Fehmida Mirza, PPP’s Shaiza Marri, Nafisa Shah, Syeda Shehla Raza and Sharmila Farooqui and MQM-P’s Rana Ansar for NA seats reserved for women.

For the Sindh Assembly seats reserved for women, 83 candidates are in the run including PPP’s Rehana Laghari and Nida Khuhro and MQM-P’s Bilqees Mukhtar and Naheed Begum. There are also 38 candidates for the provincial assembly seats reserved for minorities including PPPP’s Mukesh Kumar Chawla, MQM-P’s Mangla Sharma and Sanjay Parwani.
