The UN children’s agency has said more than 1,000 Palestinian children have suffered the loss of a limb due to Israeli bombing since October 7.

UNICEF spoke to two small children in Gaza who have lost limbs and must bear the wounds for the rest of their lives.

A girl named Shaimaa said the house next to her family home was bombed, and one of her arms was cut off from the elbow. Another bomb fell on their way to the hospital and she lost a leg.

“I wish my hand and my leg came back because I want to play again with the children,” she said.
