OKARA, Feb 27: Three family members were shot dead over an old enmity in Phullan Toori village near Deepalpur on Sunday evening. Reports said that Phullan Toori union council nazim Syed Ijaz Hussain Shah had been shot dead by his rival candidate Syed Ansar Husain a few months back. Akhtar Shah, brother of the deceased, was pursuing the case. On Sunday, their relatives Lal Shah, Maratab Ali Shah and Khalida Shah went to Akhtar Shah’s house and insisted for a patch-up. On his refusal, Maratab Shah opened fire on them after a squabble. The gunman of Akhtar also returned the fire, killing Maratab, his sister Khalida and brother-in-law Lal Shah on the spot.

On receiving information, DSP Mian Abrar and Basirpur SHO Agha Nasir Mehmood along with a heavy police contingent rushed to the site and shifted bodies to hospital for post-mortem. Police have registered a case against 15 accused.
