LAHORE: Petitions have been filed in the Lahore High Court against the acceptance of nomination papers of PML-N supermo Nawaz Sharif, his brother former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif and former interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

All the petitions have been filed by Shahid Orakzai.

In petition against Mr Sharif, the petitioner pleads that the respondent was a convicted man and a proclaimed offender when he was accorded with an official protocol at the airport on his return to the country.

He said then Lahore police chief Bilal Siddique Kamyana saluted the convicted Sharif which he was not authorized to do. He said Mr Sharif was not a public office holder, therefore, he could not be granted protocol.

The petitioner stated that both Sharif brothers were involved in the 1997 attack on the Supreme Court.

He alleged that Shehbaz was the mastermind of the attack as identified in an inquiry report of the Islamabad police.

He asked the court to set aside the decisions of the returning officers s and the appellate tribunals and reject the nomination papers of Nawaz for NA-130 and Shehbaz for NA-132.

Mr Orakzai sought the rejection of Ch Nisar Ali Khan’s nomination papers from NA-53 on the grounds of being involved in the Supreme Court attack case.
