“Overnight and into the early hours of the morning, extreme confrontations took place in the eastern and southern parts of Khan Younis. Israel’s army expanded operations there as it clears a path for its armoured vehicles and tanks to push deeper into the city. Many injuries have been reported from the strikes,” says Hani Mahmoud of Al Jazeera reporting from Rafah, southern Gaza.

“However, the worst event of last night occurred in the Nawasi evacuation zone, on the western side of Khan Younis, where a displaced family living in a tent was attacked,” he said.

“The family, which evacuated from Gaza City, was hit by an air strike. At least two from the family were killed, according to reports, while others were critically injured and taken to Nasser Hospital,” he said.
