KOHAT, Feb 25: Four union nazims have decided to allocate their entire development funds for providing gas in their union councils. This was decided in a meeting presided over by the nazim of union council Bilitang.

The meeting was attended by nazims of Gumbat and Kharmatu union councils Shakeel Haider and Haji Ahmed Shujja, respectively, and naib nazim of Togh Bala-II UC Habibullah, and a large number of councillors.

Later, at a press conference, they said that the SNGPL had an injection point on the main Rawalpindi road and now more than Rs100 million was required for the supply of gas to the union councils in the area.

They decided to invite the three MPAs- Shad Mohammad Khan, Syed Kalb-i-Hassan and Shaukat Habib, and MNA Mufti Ibrar Sultan on March 5 and put their demand before them as it was an issue of the whole district and could be solved with the help of either provincial or federal government.

The nazims announced to allocate Rs1.6 million of the development funds and Rs0.6 million approved by a non-governmental organisation as their share for the supply of gas to the area.

They demanded that the rest of the money should be provided by the provincial and federal government in grants.
