Any large-scale bombing in southern Lebanon will lead the region to a “comprehensive explosion”, the country’s PM Najib Mikati said, Al Jazeera reports.

During a meeting with the EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, Mikati said “Lebanon’s commitment to implementing UN Resolution No. 1701 requires stopping Israel’s violations of our sovereignty and its withdrawal from our occupied territories”.

“The full implementation of this resolution requires first stopping Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty and withdrawing from the Lebanese territories it still occupies,” he said.

Mikati also called for “a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue by giving the Palestinians their just rights”.
